Hi! I am a student currently in year 12. I have been struggling for a long time with whether I should apply for business in university or not, cuz my maths really sucks that makes me feel afraid of data analysis and calculations. But I also think that I am interested in business study, so I do not know if students with poor maths skills could do business in uni, is there any advice that could be given?

I am soon moving out to a new room and my space is very limited. I was thinking about buying the ikea Micke desk , the same one that you have but from the dimensions it felt too small to fit my monitor, laptop and other stuff so I was rethinking about spending more money on a bigger desk (compromising my room space ofc) but I am so glad I found this exact video because your desk setup is absolutely what I had in mind for my own room and now I am assured that I can fit everything there without spending more or compromising space. In the US if you are considering business as a degree and feeling confused by vids like this, just know that being raised buying items at the store in no way prepares you for how to do accounting, analytics, the finer points of finance, economics, applied statistics, or business law. It doesn't build your skills, opportunities, and network like a degree. It doesn't teach you what truly effective marketing looks like or metrics or intricate corporate structure and product management. And let's not forget the computer side of things. Lots of these subjects are far too broad and complex for the average person to just "look up on the internet." You won't get the perspective you gain in a classroom, either. I agree that if you aren't serious about business, maybe you shouldn't pick it as a degree. But a business degree is so foundational I have a hard time believing anyone who really got one would be able to say "I could've looked up all those four years on google." Without doing it first, you don't even know what you need to know! No job is going to hire you for a job requiring a business degree on the basis that you were raised capitalist.

As a CPA, no offense taken at all ! I realized we’re a special group of people that can withstand the mundanities of accounting but I personally enjoy it quite a lot. The job pays extremely well too and I feel like I can work anywhere too since every industry requires accounting. We’re also way less susceptible to layoffs. But overall I respect all business majors. If the marketing team needs a budget approval, the accounting department is always down to help 😏

here in Egypt, Business major is considered a worthless degree, you can't even find a job with it, and Egyptians call it the people's major because literally everyone who fails in high school major in it. in college they don't teach us anything useful the professor go in the lecture and just read you some slides.

Hi! Your videos have been really beneficial and informative. I'm seeking advice on which university to attend for an MSc in Finance for the September intake. I want to pivot my career into more middle-and front-office finance roles. I am unsure which university would solidify my CV as I lack visibility in the job market, especially in developed and highly saturated markets like the UK. I have these offers with estimates of total rent + tuition in the bracket. Scholarship is factored in already- Bath - MSc in Finance (38-40k) Nottingham - MSc in Finance and Investment (30k) Lancaster - MSc in Finance (26k since got a Scholarship of 13.3k) QMUL - MSc in Finance and Investment (40k) I eagerly await Durham(Finance and investment) and Edinburgh(Finance). However, I have also applied to Henley (Finance), Birmingham(Investments), Exeter(Financial Analysis and Fund Management), Glasgow(International Financial Analysis), and KCL(Banking and Finance). Got an option to choose either MSc Banking and International Finance, or MSc International Accounting and Finance at Bayes since did not get a place for Investment Management. Not sure how to go about making the decision and the whole waiting game is exhausting mentally. A bit about my background: I am a part-qualified ACCA with eight years of experience in FP&A + Analytics at companies like BlackRock, PwC, and Baxter Inc. I'll soon be clearing the ACCA to become fully qualified. I graduated with first-class honours in commerce (Delhi University, India) and intend to sign up for the CFA for next year's Feb 2025 exam for L1. So my question is basically, Which university would make my profile stronger so I need not think twice about applying to senior roles within Finance or have the employers worry about my credibility when it comes to roles that require a Master's, especially in banking and finance? I am okay with taking a pay cut if the roles are more mid and front but not at all if it's back office. I know days can get jam-packed, but your input will help immensely. Thank you!

I am still in secondary school but am trying to find a career path or at least a job sector that would suit me so I can start working towards it. 1) I was wondering if a BSc in Marketing and Management is worth it? 2) Do you have any opinions about BSc in Marketing and Management but with a year abroad? 2) Will this bring in high paying jobs/average pay?
